New WM Recordings release available now through eMusic:
The fourth full-length Rubber Band Banjo album emphasizes the use of unfamiliar sounds played on homemade instruments and electrified objects. The rhythmic sound sources include 3-stringed and rubber band zithers with percussion on both electronic drums and objects amplified with contact mics. As a result the album is largely percussive driven, but has ambient and dynamic qualities from the natural recordings, software synthesizers, voice, and shortwave radio. These recordings are inspired by avant rock, krautrock, and whatever comes out of experimenting with electrified objects and instruments largely made from junked parts.
Be sure to check out our other eMusic releases as well:
blocSonic is proud to bring you another compilation featuring ten exceptional tracks from the world netlabel music. netBloc Volume 2 features rock, calypso, trip-hop, hip-hop, reggae and electronic.

WM Recordings goes…. mobile!
Nope, it’s not a joke: besides releasing free and legal music (over 50 albums so far) and selling music through iTunes, eMusic and other digital music stores (check out our releases by Cobson and Elfferich Four!) WM Recordings now also dives into “mobile content”.
Do you make music that could be used and sold as ringtones? Do you know anyone who does? Let them get in touch and maybe you will soon find your own tracks available on a new website that will launch internationally this friday.
WM Recordings was invited to deliver high quality content to said site and decided it was worth a try. More info about the launch of this site will be available soon.
