The pieces on ‘Splogman’s sixth sense’ are a combination of cut and pasted samples and live instruments, just like on its predecessor ‘A fifth of Splogman’ which was released on Comfortstand.com.

1. Intrada: “Music is a universal language, but what are we saying to each other?”

A musical dialogue between different musical cultures.
Samples used: Vietnam: anthology of Êdê music - De tweede langspeelplaat van het Simplistisch Verbond - Anatoly Liadov: Complete orchestral works and Russian Folksongs for Orchestra, Op.58/ Krasnoyarsk Orchestra, Ivan Spiller ("basic" bongo sample: from a thriftstore LP, forgotten which one...)
Instruments: recorder (blokfluit) - splogman’s voice

2. A walk through the land of 999 dances

Cut and paste piece based entirely on samples taken from the first 100 dances of The land of 999 dances.

3. Glibbareeglue

Only live instruments are used here in a multi track recording. They’re not played in a conventional way however and have been digitally altered after recording.
Instruments: flute, small talking drum, home made tubular bells, swannee whistle (roerfluit), duck-call whistles (two different ones) and Splogman's voice.

4. Platte beurs

Composed out of samples of records that I bought at the big record fair (=Platenbeurs) in Utrecht November 2004. ‘Platte beurs’ however means ‘flat wallet’.

5. Remkes’ Mars

On september 14, 2004 the dutch minister of justice Remkes, held a speech about acting more firmly against soccer-hooligans who chant incorrect and insulting choruses. During a match hooligans chanted that Rafael van der Vaart's (Ajax) wife was a whore.
Wim de Bie (a well known author, actor and satirist) then posted a excuse-chorus "made by some of the hooligans who were sorry": "Van der Vaart's got one hell of a hot woman." I included fragments of the news broadcast and Wim de Bie's chorus in my mix. Wim mentioned and linked it on his Blog.

6. Tree of temptation

“There was a young woman of Rise
Who ate too many apples and died
The apples inside the lamented
fermented and made cider
inside her inside”

Thanks to “De Innsingers” and Rivka for their kind permission to use their recordings again.
